Sarah A. Calder

Sarah A. Calder, 93 years, a resident of Indianapolis and former resident of New Palestine passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Westminster Village North, Indianapolis. She was born on January 25, 1932, in Delaware County, Indiana to the late Castle and Mildred (Chambers) Addison.

She is a 1949 graduate of Daleville High School and graduated in 1953 from Ball State University where she received her master's degree in education. She retired as a teacher from New Palestine Elementary School in 1993 after 21 years. She is a member of the Irvington Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school, served as a deacon, elder and volunteered in the office. Sarah was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her girlfriends.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Patty) Calder, Jay Calder, grandsons, Tyler Calder, Logan Calder, and 4 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband, Roy Calder, son, Gregory Calder, brother, George Addison, and sister, Nellie Johns.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Hendryx Chapel, 19 E. Main Street, New Palestine, IN 46163. A celebration of her life funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, Ind.
