Shawn R. Garriott

Shawn Renee Garriott, age 51, of Indianapolis passed away January 7, 2023 at her residence. She was born March 1, 1971 in New Castle, Indiana to Harry Eugene Byrne and the late Janet Sue (Kinnett) Byrne. She was married to Samuel Hubert Garriott July 21, 1989, and he survives.

Shawn was a homemaker and a great dog lover, especially of her beloved dachshund. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Shawn is survived by her father, listed above; son, Jason Garriott; daughter, Laura McDowall; two grandchildren, Elaina and Mirajane McDowall; sisters, Chris Grider and Ruth Cowper; and "sistah" Lori Reckley; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, listed above.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home – Hendryx Chapel, 11636 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229 with Brother William Bell officiating.
