Shawn Hopson

Shawn Robert Hopson, 45, passed away on May 17th, 2026, at home. He was the husband of Sabrina Hopson. They shared 7 years of partnership and 4 years of marriage.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Timothy and Mary Hopson. He attended Greenfield Central High School, graduating in 1999. He worked as a mechanic for over 25 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, going to concerts, playing card games, tattooing, spending time with family and friends, and being a Papaw. He will be remembered for his laugh and smile, being called the furnace in high school, his snoring that sounded like a freight train, his willingness to help anyone, and the way he lit up rooms with his personality.

He was survived by his spouse, Sabrina Hopson, his children, Sarah, Dathan, Russel, and Madeline (Hopson), ex-wife, Tirzah Blanton, step-children, Meredith and Chloe (Johnson), grandchild Dutton (Hopson), brother, Mark ‘Whody’ (Durham), and nephew Jayden ‘J-Boogie’ (Durham). He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Mary Hopson, and his grandmother, Minnie Tibbs.

The viewing visitation will be held on May 22nd from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Stillinger Family Funeral Homes at 1780 W Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be brought to the viewing services and dropped in a donation box.
