Sherry Lynn (Terrell) Branson

Sherry Lynn (Terrell) Branson, 85, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, formally of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away on December 27, 2022, at Tidewell Hospice of Lakewood Ranch. She was born on September 20, 1937, in Linton, IN, to Ora Lester and Marybelle (Noel) Terrell.

After her education at Ben Davis and Tech High Schools, she became employed at Indiana Bell where she retired after over 25 years as an Executive Secretary. In 1990, Sherry and her husband Bill moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement and traveling. Sherry cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sherry dedicated her life to the church from singing in the choir at New Palestine United Methodist Church to being one of the founding members of Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

She is survived by her sons: Mark (Cheryl) Highsmith, William (Pam) Branson, Robert (Chelsea) Branson, and James (Donna) Branson; daughter, Cheryl (Luke) Gerardi; daughter-in-law, Tina Branson; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Willever; husband, William "Bill" Branson; first husband, John Highsmith; and sons, Michael Highsmith and Dave Branson.

The entire family would like to express their outmost gratitude to Cheryl Gerardi as she managed care for Mom over several years.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home-New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main Street, New Palestine, IN. The funeral service will start at 12:30 p.m., also at the funeral home with Chaplain Russ Jarvis officiating. Sherry will be laid to rest next to her late husband in New Palestine Cemetery.
