Shirley Caroline (Haywood) Wall

Shirley Caroline (Haywood) Wall, 87, of New Palestine, Indiana, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on her birthday, March 2, 2022. She was born in Charlottesville, IN, to Dale and Julia (Niles) Haywood. She attended Greenfield Central High School. Shirley retired from Hancock Memorial Hospital in October 1994. She was a Nursing Assistance and then became an Assistant Supervisor in the Central Service sterilization unit. In Shirley's younger days she was a member of the Hope Rebekahs, Eastern Star, Greenfield Christian Woman's Club, Ladies Aid, and was Class Treasurer of her Sunday School class at Shiloh Christian Church. As Shirley was a social butterfly, she remained active post retirement playing Euchre and Bunco with friends and family. She created greeting cards, enjoyed playing her dulcimer, crocheting and knitting crafts, sewing, making homemade noodles, prepared dinners and sang in the choir for her beloved Shiloh Christian Church. Shirley is survived by her loving children: Julia (Bruce) Heckman, Jill Beyers, and Joy (Mike) Rodich; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings: Earl (Betty Sue) Haywood and Patty Shaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Dale Eugene Haywood, Joyce Apple, and Linda Jackson; and granddaughter, Brandi Shipley. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, Vincennes, Indiana, for their compassionate care of their mother, grandmother, and sister. Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, has been honored to assist the family during their loss. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with the service immediately following at 12:00 noon, all at Shiloh Christian Church, 4980 South County Road 500 East, Greenfield, IN 46140, with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Ladies Aid of Shiloh Christian Church or to the donor's choice.
