Shirley Ann Johns

Shirley Ann Johns, 86, Greenfield, went to her heavenly home on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. She passed at IU-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, after a period of ill health. She was born in Greenfield to Howard F. and Mary (Prage) Johns. She graduated from the old Greenfield High School in the class of 1955. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Ball State University and taught business education at Renssalear High School. She retired after a long career with Eli Lilly and Company.

She was a faithful Cradle Roll member of the Greenfield Presbyterian Church where she had served as pianist, organist, and secretary of the church Session. She was also a member of Upsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa. Her interests included music, traveling, and community service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Prage Johns; sister-in-law, Janice Johns; 31 aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

She is survived by her sister, Mary "Susie" Johns Circle (husband, Larry); 5 nieces: Molly (Paul) Sawyer, Mary (Tyler) Ewing, Megan (Shane) Krugler, Amy (Steve) Winkle, and Lori Childers; nephew, Alan (Rhonda) Johns; and several great nieces and great nephews.

The family wishes to thank Westminster Village of Muncie for their tender loving care of their loved one.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
