Simona C. Olston April 19, 1939 - March 30, 2008 Simona C. Olston, 68, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born April 19, 1939 in Hurley, New Mexico to the late Frank and Anita (Chavez) Perez. She worked at the Hancock County Courthouse as a custodian for 18 years, worked in the cafeteria at Greenfield Middle School for 2 years, and was a member of the Brandywine Community Church, Greenfield. She loved dining out, was an avid bingo player, and loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Y. (Olston) Spears of Greenfield; son, Lee R. Olston of Greenfield; sister, Bennie Medina of El Paso, TX; six grandchildren, Thomas, Shawn, Jessica, Stacia, Alicia, and Zachary; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Olston, January 2, 2001, brothers, Raymond Perez, Steven Chavez. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday April 3, 2008 at Brandywine Community Church, Greenfield with Jess Ireton officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Wednesday April 2, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Comments Well Mom, I just found out today that you would have been a great grandma again!!! Yes, your " grandson Ronnie is going to be a dad again. I truly hope that you are looking down on this family and smiling. We love and miss you. Theres so much I wish I could say. Most of all--- I love you. Kathy, Jenny, " Brian and Ronnie will miss her terribly. But their loss will never match the emptiness I will feel as her daughter. And my mother had another daughter--- Anita Jean that was conveniently left out. We do exist and though I can not speak for my sister, Anita, I will always love my mother as well as my brother and sister. I know I didnt deserve to be listed on my mothers obituary, but my children should never have been omitted. This was done out if anger and I pray for my siblings. I hope Christ will help me forgive. I found my mom on my 24th birthday and I have always been very proud to " carry her name. My children loved their "mimi" and are very hurt that they were omitted from the obit. They have done nothing wrong. My mom and I had issues, but I NEVER stopped loving her. I prayed for her daily. I failed her as a daughter. I could never live up to my sisters examples.
