Stella M. Porter

Stella M. Porter, age 84 of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late Isom and Mary Jane (Whittey) Blankenship. Stella worked for Western Electric, and retired as a group leader after 14 years from RCA-Indy. She loved crafts, gardening, traveling and was an avid walker. Stella attended Park Chapel Christian Church, and Brandywine Community Church. She was very family oriented, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. Stella is survived by daughter, Gail (Danny) Bishop of Kokomo; Denise Humphrey of Greenfield; Andrea (Mike) Lynn. 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, James W. Porter, daughter, Linda S. Hinterlong, 3 brothers, 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Wickham officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery, Indianapolis.
