Stella M. Rainey May 17, 1923 - July 4, 2010 Stella M. Rainey, 87, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis. She was born May 17, 1923 in Spencer County, Indiana to the late Walter and Flora (Haaff) Sandage. Stella was an active member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and its Jessie Dorsey Womens Circle and enjoyed quilting. She is survived by a son, Donald (Kay) Rainey of Greenfield; daughters, Goneth (Dennis) Rush of Morristown, Janet (Gary) Perman of Greenfield, Brenda (Ron) Shively of Greenfield, Faye (Terry) Lewis of Westfield; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Esther Pfingston of Evansville, IN, Matilda Niehaus of Holland, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Rainey; brothers, Woodrow, Tom and William Henry Sandage; sisters, Lorene Chandler and Mary Scales. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Rev. Michael Manning and Tony Schommer officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
