Stephen Holler, age 71, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on January 22, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Ermal Holler & Gleda (Starr) Holler. Stephen gradated from Hancock Central High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Teresa (Mayhew) Holler, on May 15, 1970.
Stephen served in the United States Army from 1966-1969. He was deployed from 1968-1969 to Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Stephen spent his career as a Yard Brakeman, Yardmaster and Train Master for CSX Railroad until his retirement in 2005. Stephen enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball teams, bowling and gardening. It seemed anything he enjoyed doing was something he could do with his family, which he loved and adored. For the past few years, Steve has enjoyed spending his Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at Jack's Donuts with his brothers-in-law Tom Scott, Dave Johnson and many friends. Some of those friends were lifelong friends and some of those were new friends made while enjoying their donuts and coffee.
Left to cherish Stephens memory are his wife Teresa Holler, daughters; Angie (Brent) Barnes, Andrea (Jason)Hayse, grandchildren; Autumn (Tyler Pitman) Shilling, Stephen Shilling, Alex Barnes, Jessica Barnes, Bailee Hayse and Brooke Hayse, great-grandson Landon, brothers; Ronald (Elaine) Holler and Christopher Holler and sister, Starla (Milton) Richards, as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family.
Stephen is proceeded in death by his parents Ermal Holler & Gleda Holler.
Visitation for Stephen will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM on Monday January 28, 2019 at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home, with Josh Silvers officiating.
