Ted R. Sebastian October 10, 1918 - October 17, 2009
Ted R. Sebastian, age 91, of Greenfield, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Golden Living Center Brandywine in Greenfield.
Born in McDowell County, West Virginia, on October 10, 1918, Mr. Sebastian was the son of the late William Henry and Julia (Faulkner) Sebastian.
Ted was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a scout during the American Theater Campaign, having enlisted nine months before WWII started. He retired from Ford Motor Company. He was an avid fox hunter and had won numerous trophies from Florida to Indiana with his prized hounds. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 119 Greenfield Chapter, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his nieces Virginia (Thomas) Barham of Signal Mountain, TN and Julia (Richard) Geist of San Rafael, CA and a great nephew, Brad Barham of Panama City Beach, FL; Ted is also survived by his extended family, the family of Winston and Mabelene Hammons, the "Retired Ford Lunch Bunch", Bob Colbert, Charlie Colgate, Willie Pitts, and Ford friend, Orville Pendulum.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Runyon Sebastian; a daughter Glenda Ann Sebastian; six sisters and four brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home in Greenfield with calling starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
