Thelma L. McCreary March 3, 1917 - February 17, 2010 Thelma L. (Ellington) McCreary, 92, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield. She was born March 3, 1917 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Henry L. and Maude (Padgett) Ellington. She lived most of her life in Henry and Wayne Counties. Thelma worked for Perfect Circle, Hagerstown for 15 plus years and formerly for Atlas Factory in Richmond, IN. She loved bowling, sewing and reading. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Justice "Judd" McCreary of Greenfield; daughters, Jan (John) Freeman-Abbott of Richardson, TX and Glora (Ron) Freeman- Anderson of Greenfield; step-son, Jim French of Columbus, OH; step-daughter, Leslie McCreary of Colorado; a brother, Paul Ellington of New Castle; three sisters, Pauline Wright, OH, Irene Campbell, TX, Marjorie Smith, New Castle; 6 grandsons, Bret, Chris, David Anderson, Mark, Todd, Patrick Rhoda; 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Malcolm, Troy Ellington; seven sisters, Myrtle Holt, Tina Strahan, Nina Bane, Letha Tarr, Ruby Ellington, Minnie Horner, Mabel Wisehart. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, Greenfield with Rev. Mike Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Greens Fork Cemetery in Greens Fork, IN at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Park United Methodist Church, 207 West Park Avenue, Greenfield, IN 46140. Comments Gloria, I was sorry to hear about the death of your mother. I worked with her at for many years at Perfect Circle/ Dana. She was a very nice person to work with and " always a very pleasant person.
