Theodore "Ted" Smith October 14, 1946 - August 30, 2014 Theodore "Ted" Eston Smith passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at his home. Ted was born October 14, 1946 to the late Mary Annabelle (Shipp) and Aubrey Eston Smith in Harrisonburg, VA. He went on to graduate in 1967 from Montevedeo High School in Virginia. He served in the army during Vietnam. He was a certified welder at Moorfeed Company in Indianapolis for many years. Recently he worked at Colrain RV as a transport driver. He married Char Hare on December 24, 1997 in Stanadville, VA. Ted was a member of Family Campers and RVers since 1970, he was a Good Sam since 1986, and a Kentucky Colonel since 1998. He was also a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church. Ted loved camping and helping others. He was very thoughtful and there was nothing he wouldnt do for someone he cared about. Ted is survived by his wife, Char; his children, Cynthia Colson of Culpepper, VA, Tamela Smith of Harrisonburg, VA, Candace Van Volkenburg of Beech Grove, and Gregory Hare of Greenfield; his sisters Phyllis Morris of Penn Laird, VA, and Leta Hotsinger of Harrisonburg, VA; his brothers, Russell, Roy, and Phillip Smith, all of Harrisonburg, VA; and thirteen grandchildren. Ted is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may visit Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140 on Thursday, September 4th from 11 AM to 1 PM for a public visitation. Funeral services will begin at 1. Burial with full military honors will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Teds honor to Philadelphia United Methodist Church at 2265 W US Hwy 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
