Thomas Leroy Tompkins

Thomas LeRoy Tompkins June 17, 1935 - October 20, 2006 Thomas LeRoy Tompkins, 71, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 in Greenfield. He was born June 17, 1935 in Greenfield to Thomas Tompkins and Inez Mildred (Reed) Tompkins. He worked as a fireman for the Greenfield Fire Department for 27 years. He also worked for Dellen Auto for 19 years. Thomas served in the National Guard and was a member of the F.O.P. He loved golf, baseball, football and Nascar. Survivors include son, Ron (April) Tompkins of Greenfield, Ind.; daughters, Karen (Alan) (Tompkins) Copeland of Greenfield, Tina (Tompkins) McCellan of Greenfield, Julie (Scott) (Tompkins) Taylor of Shelbyville and Susie (David) (Tompkins) Hardin of Greenfield; sister, Marilyn (Tompkins) Leny of Shirley, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren; two nieces and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marlene Tompkins who died in 2003; brothers, Wilmer Tompkins and Earlmoine Tompkins. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield and will be officiated by Rev. Paul C. Enyart. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Friends may call the funeral home from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2006.
