Thomas J. Van Alst

Thomas J. Van Alst, age 57 of Muncie, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on April 13, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Charles and Mary (McKinstray) Van Alst. Thomas spent his life working as a painter & landscaper. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking & gardening. Thomas always enjoyed a good conversation with a laugh. Surviving Thomas is his wife, Carol Van Alst of Muncie; son, Thomas Van Alst; daughters, Carly Fox; Jillian Van Alst both of Greenfield; and Melissa Van Alst of Muncie; step-daughter, Danielle Farquar of Muncie; sisters, Cheryl Jones of Greenfield; Vicki Cox of Tifton, GA; and 13 grandchildren. Preceding Thomas in death are his parents whom are listed above; brothers, Brett Van Alst; and Mark Van Alst. Visitation for Thomas will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, 621 South State Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
