Tomala Ann (Ends) Arthur

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Tomala Ann Arthur, 73, on April 9, 2024. Tomala was a tremendous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Greg Arthur whom she lived with in New Palestine, IN; her children and daughter-in-law, Thomas, Jeffrey, Michael, and Angela Arthur; her grandchildren, Grant and Sydney Arthur; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Jan Ends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marietta and Robert Ends, and her brother, Bobby Ends.

Tomala was born February 3, 1951, in Indianapolis, IN. She was raised in Lawrence, IN with her family and attended Lawrence Central High School. She then graduated from cosmetology school and began her career as a hair stylist. She married Greg in 1974 and they began their family a few years later with the birth of Tom, then Jeff, and lastly Mike. She was a business owner and ran her own hair salon, Creative Styling, for 10 years where she made many lifelong friends.

When her children had grown, she and Greg moved to New Palestine, IN where she lived for the rest of her life. She was an active and loving grandmother to Grant and Sydney. She worked at Curves where she made new friends and engaged with the community. Everyone who met her could instantly tell what a caring, loving, and fun person Tomala was.

Tomala always looked forward to family get-togethers with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who loved making her family their favorite foods. She was always ready for a game of cards, especially Hand and Foot which she played in a card club for many years. She loved a good (thin) tenderloin, always played to win, hated when people said her name incorrectly, always had a piece of gum and chapstick on her, was famous for her coffee cake, and would do anything for her family.

Services will be held at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Hendryx Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. There will be a showing on Monday, April 15, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service which will begin at 1:00 p.m.
