Tonya Kay (Markle) Slichenmyer, age 65 of Greenfield passed away April 11, 2021 at Suburban Hospice, Greenfield. She was born August 3, 1955 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Eldon and Joyce (Whitaker) Markle.
Tonya was a graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. She served her country in the United States Army from 1981-1983. She married Randy Slichenmyer on April 8, 1981. Tonya was a customer service associate for Walmart prior to her retirement. Tonya loved the beach, shelling, and beautiful sunsets. She and Randy would travel often to Panama City Beach and Destin Florida. Tonya also enjoyed antiquing, flower gardening, and was a longtime fan of Days of Our Lives. Above all else, Tonya was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. She loved attending her grandson's baseball games and according to Tanner, she made the best hotdogs ever.
Tonya is survived by her husband, Randy Slichenmyer; daughters, Olivia Slichenmyer and Lauren (Micah) Bickel; grandson, Tanner Swalls; siblings, Linda (Bobby) Page, Mike (Karen) Markle, and Rene (Tim) Davis; brother-in-law, Jerry Rector; nephew, Brent Rector; nieces, Amanda Hartman, Jessica Gspandl, and Molly Markle. She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above and sister, Pamela Rector.
Calling will be 2:00 – 6:00 PM, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service 10:00 am, Monday, April 19 at the Markleville North Christian Church, 32 State Street, Markleville, Indiana with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial immediately following at Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Indiana.
