Travis Reed Yazzie

Travis Reed Yazzie, 46, of Knightstown, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He was born August 2, 1980, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Richard Yazzie and Cecilia (Llewellyn) Hinds.

Travis was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. He loved his children with every ounce of himself and cherished the time he spent with them. Some of his favorite memories were made outside with his kids—swimming in the local creek, catching crawdads, fishing, and exploring new places together. He loved to hike and was always researching new trails to take his children on.

Travis attended Southport High School and worked as a technician for Jiffy Lube in Greenfield, Indiana. He was proud of his Navajo heritage and the family and traditions that were part of who he was.

Travis was a goofy guy with a big heart. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back and cared deeply about the people in his life. If someone needed help, Travis was there. He had a special love for dogs and had many throughout his life. He loved his family fiercely, loved making people laugh, and leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

In true Travis fashion:

Travis is survived by his wife, Katherine Yazzie; his three children, Wyatt, Asaya, and Kailoki; his four sisters, Michelle (Brandon), Aimey, Myndi (Joshua), and Emily (Brett); his step-brother, John; his mother-in-law, Mary (Brad) Wright; his father-in-law, Larry (Angie) Wright; his nieces and nephews, Taylor, Brock, Braxton, Jordan, Makaylei, Kendyl, Cole, Gabe, Ella, and Everly; his brothers-in-law, Brandon, Lane (Kenzie), Nick, and Lance; as well as his extended family in Arizona.

In addition to his parents, Travis was preceded in death by his child, Mundoo; his sister-in-law, Marie Wright; and his bonus dad, John Hinds.

At the wishes of the family, there are no services scheduled at this time, but a celebration of life may be held at a later date with details to be announced.
