Vera L Banker

Vera L. Banker December 9, 1923 - May 8, 2011 Vera L. Banker, 87, a resident of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at University Heights in Indianapolis. She was born December 9, 1923 in Champaign, IL to the late William and Nona (Clark) Shonkwiler. Vera worked for Electra Corporation and several years at Delta Faucet, retiring in 1987. She spent her life as a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed feeding the birds and ducks. She is survived by her sons, Dennis L. (Patty) Ashcraft and William F. (Claudia) Banker, both of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Banker, Sr.; sisters, Virginia Fluck, Doris M. Dickerson, Elaine Juncker; brother, William "Sonny" Shonkwiler. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield with Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m.until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
