Vernon E. McKinney June 21, 1940 - April 5, 2007
Vernon E. McKinney, 66, of Hardy, AR, formerly of Greenfield and Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 in Springfield, MO.
He was born June 21, 1940 in Indianapolis to the late James A. and Evelyn V. (Broadstone) McKinney.
He served in the U.S. Army, retired from Chrysler of Kokomo and worked at Walmart of Ashflat, AR. He was a former volunteer fireman in Ingalls, a former volunteer for Camp Pearl in LA and a former member of the American Legion. He attended Highland Assembly of God in AR and was a member of the Greenfield Assembly of God.
He is survived by wife, Susan (Teegarden) McKinney, whom he married June 17, 1988; sons, Scott of Westfield, Jeremy of Baltimore, MD, Shawn of Indianapolis, Brian of Dallas, TX; daughters, Shannon and Melissa both of Greenfield, Shamara of Hardy, AR; brother, Morris (Sabra) McKinney of Wilkinson, and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery. Friends may call 2-8 Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service.
