Violet Sue "Susie" (Jones) Milligan

Violet “Susie” Milligan, 68, Greenfield, passed away on November 29, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 14, 1957, in Rushville, IN, to Russell and Madge (Burchett) Jones. She is a 1976 graduate of Knightstown High School and a 1986 graduate of IU East School of Nursing.

She enjoyed traveling, vegetable gardening, and taking walks in nature. She could often be seen reading her Bible, playing the piano, and loving on her pets. She loved being a Mom & was the best Grandma ever. Most of all, she loved spending time in sweet fellowship with her dear friends, going to Gospel meetings & convention. She was admired for her beautiful smile & contagious laugh, making so many feel loved & comforted. She loved her job as an RN, working 35 years at Hancock Health in critical care & the emergency room.

She is survived by her loving children, Ryan (Stacey) Richey and Abigail (Brian) Hatfield; grandchildren Jacob Mitchell and Jordyn (Taylor) Hatfield; great-granddaughter, Ember Hatfield; siblings, Alice Siedelman and Chester (Patricia) Jones; nephew, Tim (Julene) Jones and niece, Laura (David) Hoots and she loved being Aunt Susie to many others; and father-of-her children, Kevin Richey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 12 years, John Milligan; and siblings, Donald Jones, Kenneth Jones and Joan Hutson.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. There will be an additional visitation the following day, Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be a livestreaming service if you are unable to visit the funeral home for Susie's service.  Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown, IN.
