Virginia Coffin June 5, 1923 - April 3, 2009
Virginia Coffin 85, a resident of Greenfield passed away Friday April 3rd at Golden Living Center at Brandywine, Greenfield. She was born June 5, 1923 in Greenfield to the late Walter & Lucinda (Gappen) Holden. She retired from Harris Elementary School as "Miss Virginia" the school secretary after 23 years; she formerly worked for the B.M.V. of Greenfield for 12 years and prior to that worked at the State House in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Greenfield Singles Club, consistently attended local church suppers and loved attending auctions. She is survived by her son, Rick (Becky) Coffin of Ludington, MI, 2 grandsons, Chris (Nicole) Coffin of Grand Haven, MI, Todd (Kami) Coffin of Wakarusa, IN, 2 great grandchildren, Courtney, Quinn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Coffin, daughter, Clarice Jane Coffin, 3 sisters, Dolly Whitaker, Catherine Holden, Mildred "Sit" Holden and brothers, Howard and Walter "Bud" Holden. Funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel in Greenfield with Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Virginias family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the quality care she received at Hancock Regional Hospital and Golden Living Center at Brandywine.
