Virginia B. Kehrt

Virginia B. (Hawkins) Kehrt, 80 of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation in Greenfield. She was born on February 18, 1936 in Hancock County, IN to the late Roy F. and Stella M. (Schutt) Hawkins. Virginia attended school in Charlottesville and would later marry the love of her life Billy N. Kehrt on October 21, 1971. Virginia worked at Walmart for many years as a cashier and as a greeter until she retired in 2005. Virginia attended the Stringtown Nazarene Church. Surviving Virginia are her children, Sherry L. Knight; Jerry L. Waggoner; Donna F. Waggoner; step-children, Cindy Hillard; Julie Blyth; Kathy Gassensmith; Gary Kehrt; nephew/caregiver, James Hawkins; and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents listed above; husband, Billy Kehrt who passed away in 1997; step-son, Steven N. Kehrt; sisters, Dorotha Gotcher; Thelma J. Hawkins; and brothers, Franklin and Marvin Hawkins. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00pm also at the funeral home.
