Virginia V. Roney April 2, 1919 - January 28, 2010 Virginia V. (Tuttle) Roney, 90, a resident of McCordsville, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Regency Place Nursing Home. She was born April 2, 1919 in Greenfield, Indiana to the late Roy and Tillie (Geroud) Tuttle. She was a graduate of Mt. Comfort High School, worked during the war as a civilian in the tool room on the Naval Base in California while her husband served his country. She was a 50 year member of the Indiana Farm Bureau, Hancock County 4-H member and active with her children and grandchildrens 4-H, Rural Youth Member and a lifelong member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church. She was owner, operator and dedicated worker of Tuttle Orchards and exhibited apples for 50 years at the Indiana State Fair winning numerous sweepstakes. She is survived by her two sons, Tom Roney of Greenfield and Mike (Helen) Roney of Greenfield; grandchildren, Ruth Ann, David, Elizabeth, Frank, Thomas, Benjamin and Sarah Roney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Roney, March 7, 1988. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010 at Mohawk United Methodist Church with Pastor Greg Pimlott officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Mohawk United Methodist Church, 2045 West 400 North Greenfield, IN 46140.
