Vonda Lee (Richardson) Magee, 84, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Community Hospital East. She was born on July 10, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN to Calvin Glenn and Hazel (West) Richardson. Vonda graduated from Beech Grove High School. She married the love of her life, Richard Thomas Magee, on June 18, 1960.
Vonda was the matriarch of her family that everyone looked to for advice, guidance, love, and support. Family was everything to Vonda and she would do anything for anyone. She was sweet, patient, strong, and loving. She never complained. She was a caregiver for many, including her mother, husband, mother-in-law, sisters, children, and grandchildren. Vonda took care of herself last. Vonda also enjoyed spending as much time with her sister, Marlene, as she could. Together, they would go out to eat, watch movies, and shop. Vonda attended Post Road Christian Church. Vonda worked at RCA for many years as an accounting clerk. Thereafter, she worked at and retired from Community Hospital East, also as an accounting clerk.
Vonda is survived by her loving daughters, Glenda (Michael) Griffin and Melinda (Kenneth) Noe; grandchildren: Richard (Theresa) Griffin, Jessica Griffin, Michael Griffin, Laura Griffin, Gracie (Ethan) Striggs, Hallie Wittman, Gavin Wittman, Hope Noe, Kristen Noe, Leah Noe, Quadere Noe, Rufus Noe, William Noe, Gerald Noe, and Rose Noe; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marlene Cecil.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard of 58 years; 3 sisters; and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home – Hendryx Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, and the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Gary Whorlow. A graveside service for Vonda will be held in Carthage Town Cemetery, Carthage, IN, following the funeral service.
