Walter H. Adams, age 97 of Greenfield passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Brandywine Golden Living Center in Greenfield. He was born on December 26, 1918 in Indianapolis to the late Albert H. and Ocie Viola (Fansler) Adams.
Walter graduated from Greenfield High School and would marry the love of his life Gladys M. (Hutchison) Adams on June 10, 1940 in Hancock County. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and become a Sergeant for the 693rd Quartermaster Truck Company during WWII. He co-owned Adams Plumbing & Heating and then Curtis Adams, Inc. He also worked for NAPA for 19 years. Walter was a member of the Hancock Masonic Lodge F&AM 101 for over 50 years. He loved golfing, bowling, camping, drawing, flower gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving Walter is his daughter; Donna (Donald) Grose of Greenfield, brother; Joseph (Ramona) Adams of Maxwell; sisters; Pauline Bartle of Anderson; Myrtle Curtis-Gwinnip of Rushville, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents listed above, wife; Gladys Adams, brother; Albert H. Adams Jr. and sister, Dorothy Felt.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with military honors presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
