Walter Richard Wienke December 5, 1930 - April 8, 2010 Walter Richard Wienke, 79, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born December 5, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Walter and Ester M. Wienke. Walter served as an 8th Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a former member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and the Greenfield Christian Church. He enjoyed antique cars, dancing, was a former dance instructor and was a member of the Indiana D.A.V., Chapter 52. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joy Shaddick-Wienke of Greenfield; son, Mark Wienke; daughter, Patricia Wienke; step-daughters, Janet Ahlbin, Jeanne (David) Heggem and Carol (Stuart) Price; step-son, Bryan (Toffee) Shaddick; 4 grandchildren, 7 step- grandchildren; 8 step- great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Ray) Morin; half-sister, Lois (Ben) Harrer; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Pastor Joe Merriman officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery with full military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donors choice in memory of Walter.
