William Lynn Boyd, 56, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family.

William was born on August 5, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Ila (Keating) Boyd.

On March 3, 1990, William married the love of his life, Sonja Renee (Alexander) Boyd. Together they built a family and raised three devoted children who were his pride and joy. His most cherished role, however, was being “Grandpa” to his two grandchildren.

William worked as a maintenance worker in the healthcare industry, where he was known as a hard-working and dependable man. In his free time, he found simple pleasure in his love of football and NASCAR. A lifelong Chicago Bears fan—and later a Pittsburgh Steelers fan—he shared his passion for the game with his children and grandchildren, along with the joys and heartbreaks that come with being a dedicated fan.

He was preceded in death by his father.

William is survived by his wife, Sonja Boyd; his children, Jessica Miles (Michael), William Boyd (Bailey), and Justin Boyd; his grandchildren, William Boyd and Sion Miles; his sister; Jennifer Ammons, and his stepmother, Chiquita Boyd.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Boyd family during their loss of William. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
