William "Bill" Evans

William D. "Bill" Evans, age 76 of Greenfield passed away, Monday, May 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 30, 1944 in Pall Mall, Tennessee to the late Bob and Grace (Wright) Evans. After high school Bill joined the Marine Corp and returned home to marry Katherine (Crabtree) Evans on October 14, 1966. Together they made their home and raised their family in Greenfield. Prior to his retirement, Bill was a warehouse manager for Peerless Electric for over 30 years. He never sat idle and retired several more times over the years. Bill was an avid bowler until 2 months prior to his death. He loved his family and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. Bill was also a "bonus" Dad and Pa to several throughout the years. He is survived by his sons, David (Angie) Evans and Robert (JoDee) Evans; grandkids, Austin, Logan, Dalton and Jude Oliver; and sisters, Mary Jane Glaser and Sarah (Elon) Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents; Wife Katherine and 3 brothers. Friends may call 12-4 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions only 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any given time and visitors will rotate through the line as others leave.
