William Edward Lee November 20, 1942 - December 13, 2008
William Edward Lee age 66 years, a resident of Knightstown passed away Saturday evening December 13, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born November 20, 1942 in Newberry, Indiana and is the son of the late Parmer & Berniece (Shafer) Lee.
Will was a 1960 graduate of Switz City Central High School and later attended Veterans Ag School. He served his country from 1963 to 1964 in the US Army 3rd Armored Division and served some of his time in Germany. Will was employed with INDOT for over 18 years, was a custodian for the Knightstown United Methodist Church for 7 years and was a former full time farmer. He was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church, the Knightstown American Legion, lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife Diana Mae (Stanley) Lee of Knightstown, whom he married on October 24, 1965; daughters, Sherri (Scot) Prunty of Beaverdam, VA, Terri (Gary) Delp 0f Battle Ground, IN, sisters Jeanette Devine of Odon, IN, Shirley (Bill) Wade of Washington, IN, Sharon (Mike) Akles of Shoals, IN, 2 grandchildren, Seth Prunty, Sarah Prunty, 2 step grandchildren, Robby( Katie) Delp, Kimberly Delp, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his special canine companion, Buster.
He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Edward Lee and a sister Nancy Devine.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Knightstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown with military graveside rites provided by the Knightstown American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Knightstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
