W. Wayne Reed, 82, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Greenfield Health Care in Greenfield, Indiana.

Wayne was born on September 19, 1943, in Shelbyville, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Eleanor (Richey) Reed. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1962 and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. Following his military service, Wayne built a career as a semi-truck driver, a profession he dedicated many years to before retiring.

Outside of his career, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies. He had a passion for model airplanes and was an active member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 119 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandy (Skinner) Reed, whom he married on October 18, 1969; his daughter, Gina Reed; his son, Mike (Donna) Reed; his brothers, Roger (Debbie) Reed and Brian Reed; his grandchildren, Cory McCord and Cassandra Mathis; and his great-grandchildren, Huxley McCord and Gatilyn McCord.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above and his brother, John Reed.

In accordance with Wayne's wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time. It has been an honor to care for Mr. Reed and to serve his family during this difficult time here at Stillinger Family Funeral Home.
