Willie Johnson December 10, 1918 - October 20, 2010 Willie Johnson, 91, a resident of Indianapolis, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Community East Hospital. He was born December 10, 1918 in Paris, Kentucky and was the son of the late Walter and Mahalia (Sanders) Johnson. Willie served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a lifelong farmer for Bentley Farms, a member of the Shelbyville American Legion and the Second Baptist Church in Shelbyville. He was an avid outdoorsman, Pacer and Colts fan, enjoyed church softball and loved picnics with the family on the farm. He is survived by his children, William Terry (Margie) Johnson, Robert Stanley (Robin) Johnson and Pamela Joyce (Arthur) Edmonds; 9 grandchildren, Shelly Scott, Chrischelle (Ed) Brown, Terry Marette Johnson, Anna (Jamel) Smith, Jennifer (Dante) Edmonds- Jones, Lyndsey (Donald) Thorn, Ryan Johnson, Lisa (Jim) Bean, Cherie (Jerome) Johnson; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (Henderson) Johnson; daughter, Portia Lucille Johnson Scott; grandson, Rob DeWitt; step-mother, Margaret (Taylor) Johnson; sister, Flossie (Johnson) Henderson; brothers, Elick, Alvin, Arthur, Roman, Walter Lee and Robert Johnson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Minister Pat McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be sent to Central Indiana Council on Aging, 4655 Kingsway Drive #200 Indianapolis, Indiana 46205.
