Wilma (Welling) Koch, 97 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Brandywine Golden Living Center in Greenfield. Born on June 9, 1920 in Mt. Comfort to the late Earl & Freda (Kentrup) Welling.
Wilma graduated from Mt. Comfort High School in 1938 and would further her education at the University of Indianapolis graduating in 1947 with a degree in education. She spent her career working as an elementary school teacher at both New Palestine & Mt. Comfort Schools until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield where she taught for the U.M.C. Mission Home of Tampa, Florida. She also enjoyed volunteering at Hancock Regional Hospital for 25 years.
Surviving Wilma is her step-son, Carroll (Jane) Koch; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Koch; step-grandchildren, Sherri; Jeff; Matthew; Timothy Koch; and great-grandchildren; Addison; Braylin; & Will Koch
Preceding Wilma in death are her parents mentioned above, husband, Herbert Koch; step-son, Gerald Koch; and brothers, Donald & Elmer Welling.
Friends may visit from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00pm also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Greenfield
