Wm Bill Walls

William Bill John Walls, age 74 of New Palestine peacefully passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his home in Fountaintown. He was born June 30, 1940 in Knox, PA to the late Elbert and Ida (Say) Walls. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Hancock Central High School and served in the Army National Guard. He was an Electrician at Ford Motor Company, Delco Remy and a concrete contractor. He retired in 2006 from Ford after over 20 years of service. Bill was a member of the New Palestine American Legion Post 182 and the Greenfield VFW. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and betting on the horse races. It was a standing joke that Bill had his own office at the Indiana Live Grand Casino! He loved to hunt, fish and trap. His brothers and sisters called him the animal whisperer growing up as he tamed many wild animals. He was also the 1963 Indiana & Ohio H/Gas Drag Racing Champion at Muncie Speedway. Bill had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. He would brighten any room with his smile and laugh. He is survived by his children; William ( Cheryl) Walls of Indianapolis, Kristina Walls of Indianapolis, Rodney Leffler of New Palestine, Marte (Trace) McCloud of Fountaintown, brothers; James (Barbara) Walls of Knightstown, Michael (Diana) Walls of Maxwell, Dennis (Elaine) Walls of Greenfield, sister; Dee Ann (Chuck) Davis of Greenfield, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers; Richard Walls, Terence Walls, sisters; Joan Meek and Meredith Johnson. Friends may call 4-8 pm, Friday, May 22, 2015 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service will be 10 am, Saturday, May 23 at the funeral home with burial following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
