The Most Important Word in Our Business Name: Family

At Stillinger Family Funeral Home in Greenfield, Indiana, it’s no accident that the word “family” is part of our brand. And even though David Stillinger and the Stillinger family owns and operates the Hancock County funeral home, we believe the word “family” is significant in two other ways:

The Stillinger Family of Funeral Professionals

You might consider the funeral care providers at Stillinger Family Funeral home to be a team, working together to achieve the goal of serving others. That is certainly a valid way of thinking about us. But in addition to being a team, we like to think of ourselves as a family – a family serving families, that is. Like any positive workplace environment where co-workers spend considerable time together, a family dynamic develops. That is true at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, and we think it helps us understand the unique needs of the families we serve, too. We are, indeed, a family of professionals serving families in mourning and in need.

The Families We Honor and Serve

Families come to us in their hour of need – or in anticipation of that hour, via funeral preplanning – and we feel honored and humbled to be their trusted servants during that time. So, we work hard to honor the families who come to us as we provide services that pay tribute to their loved ones.

What’s more, we are members of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association (IFDA), and we are committed to operating in accordance with the IFDA’s Code of Ethics. In particular, we dedicate ourselves to the IFDA’s “Service to the Families” section in the Code of Ethics, which calls upon member funeral professionals to “serve each family in a professional and caring manner, being respectful of their wishes and confidences, being honest and fair in all dealings with them.” We do that with reverence and respect, and we would serve families that way even if it weren’t part of the IFDA Code of Ethics.

Yes, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, families are indeed at the heart of our business. That’s why the word “family” is part of our brand, and that’s why we hold ourselves to the highest standard: to serve other families the way we’d want our own families to be served.
